Cụm ống đo là loại cân lượng theo diện tích biến thiên và khi hiệu chỉnh van định lượng thì hiển thị một lưu lượng khí. Van định lượng gắn bên trên ngõ ra của ống đo, giúp hiệu chỉnh bằng tay đạt lượng khí yêu cầu. Dung lượng của mỗi ống đo được chỉ rõ bằng thang đo định cỡ, đọc trực tiếp theo pounds/ngày(lb/d)và theo grams/giờ(g/h) hoặc kilograms/giờ ( kg/h), được gắn trên ống đo.
Đối với các hệ thống điều khiển châm khí tự động, cung cấp một van tự động,đấu nối vào tuyến giữa ống phun và cụm ống đo van. Còn van hiệu chỉnh bằng tay trên cụm ống đo thì không cấp cho chế độ vận hành này.
