Cần trục tháp là loại cần trục cố định được sử dụng cho mục đích cẩu trong xây dựng các công trình cao tầng. Các vật liệu nặng như khối bê tông, giàn thép, khung,… có thể dễ dàng được nâng lên độ cao cần thiết bằng thiết bị máy công trình này.
Thiết kế cần trục tháp bao gồm cột buồm là tháp đỡ dạng thẳng đứng, Jib là cánh tay vận hành của cần trục, cần chống là cánh tay còn lại mang trọng lượng đối trọng ở phía sau của cần trục và một cabin điều khiển để vận hành thiết bị.
